What’s great about RCSS… School Board members who take the time to visit a school and present a STAR3 student award in person because the student was too sick to attend the board meeting. Her teacher shared this quote with me: "She kept the award on her desk all day and asked me a ton of questions about it—'Can you hang it? What’s it made of?' Thank you RCSS Board members for putting Students First in All YOU Do!

At their December session, secondary lead teachers showcased their creativity and skills by completing holiday projects— while blindfolded! Equipped with valuable insights, they are now prepared to guide their campuses in the new year, focusing on data analysis, Academically/Intellectually Gifted Students, and the updated English Language Arts standards and timeline.

December is read a new book month!

Congratulations to the Northeastern Randolph Middle School cheerleading team for their 4 time back-to-back Randolph County Cheer Championship win today!

The early release day on Friday, December 20 will mark the beginning of our Winter break. Students will return to school on January 2.

Each year, the Piedmont Triad Education Consortium honors "Signature Schools." Selected from 18 districts throughout our region, these are schools that have exemplified excellence and experienced significant improvement in the last twelve months. Today we celebrated these accomplishments at the annual Signature Schools Award Breakfast held on the campus of UNCG. Congratulations to Franklinville Elementary School and Wheatmore High School on being selected as a Signature School for RCSS for the 2024-2025 school year!

This week’s Swearing-In Ceremony at the Randolph County Board of Education meeting included Gary Cook, Sharon Petty Farlow, Tracy Boyles, and newly elected Board member Todd Cutler. Congratulations to everyone!

This week, RCSS had four secondary staff members (from SWRMS & PGHS) attend the NCCAT and NC2ML Co-creating a Vision of High Quality and Equitable Math Instruction retreat for middle school and high school district teams.
