RCC is canceling Thursday evening’s Apprenticeship Randolph Community Night from 5-7 p.m. They will not be rescheduling. The due date for Apprenticeship Randolph applications is March 10th and they have several company Open Houses planned between now and then.

February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, and the Randolph County School System wants to express our heartfelt gratitude to our Career and Technical Education staff, including Career Development Coordinators and Central Services support staff. These dedicated individuals work tirelessly to prepare our students for the workforce and provide them with valuable opportunities to explore a wide variety of career paths. Through their efforts, they not only teach and mentor but also actively collaborate with community leaders, local businesses, and industry partners to ensure our students' success.

Karen Staley, Katherine Tinker, and James Price of the RCSS EC team recently presented at the NC Council for Exceptional Children's 39th Annual Conference. We are incredibly proud of them for stepping up to share their expertise, fostering greater understanding and awareness in the field.

"Leadership Reads" is an initiative within the RCSS where members of the central office Leadership Team visit elementary schools to read to students. This morning, Superintendent Dr. Stephen Gainey had the opportunity to read to students at Archdale Elementary School.

The Mastery Prep ACT Boot Camps recently concluded with a full day session at Randolph Early College. Juniors throughout the district participated in workshops to further improve their preparation for the upcoming ACT by teaching test-taking and time management strategies.

Congratulations to Mehik Khan, a student at Trinity High School, who received an Honorable Mention for her yarn painting, 'Crimson Cranes,' in the Scholastic Regional Art Contest.

Through a partnership with the exceptional children's department and the support of the NC School Improvement grant, select high school math teachers are completing a professional development series. Yesterday's learning involved Hands On Math Equations that provided teachers with strategies to use in their classrooms.

Congratulations to all of our winners at the school level who participated in our District Spelling Bee yesterday at Journey Church in Asheboro. Congratulations to Madison Watts of Trinity Middle School, our district’s Spelling Bee champion for the 2024-2025 school year!

Uwharrie Ridge hosted a parent information session Friday morning followed by student information sessions for eighth through eleventh grades to explain and answer questions regarding the Randolph Community College special programs rollout.

Congratulations to Southeastern Randolph Middle School for being named Randolph County Middle School Wrestling Champions this past weekend!

Tonight, Twelfth-grade student-athletes from Asheboro City Schools and the Randolph County School System were honored with "Sportsmanship" awards at the Randolph Sports Council Winter Banquet held at Black Powder Smokehouse in Asheboro. The event featured guest speaker Woody Younts, a retired educator and coach.
