November 11-15 is National School Psychology Week
This year’s theme, “Spark Discovery,” recognizes the work that school psychologists do to help their communities seek out new ideas, effect change, and expand horizons for children and youth. Join us by taking this week to embark on a journey of discovery, explore how each person can celebrate the work of school psychologists, and learn how school psychologists help students, families, and communities every day.

English as a Second Language & Content Area Teachers along with district staff attended Carolina TESOL professional development to enhance skills for reaching all learners. There are currently more than 1200 English Language Learners in the RCSS representing 8% of the district's population.

Last night, Twelfth-grade student-athletes from Asheboro City Schools and the Randolph County School System were honored as "Unsung Heroes" at the Randolph Sports Council Fall Banquet held at Black Powder Smokehouse in Asheboro. The event featured guest speaker Alvin Battle, a member of the 1983 NCAA Basketball National Championship team from North Carolina State University. Battle inspired attendees with his stories of perseverance and teamwork, celebrating the achievements of these dedicated young athletes who contribute to their schools and communities.

Randleman Middle School won the football championship tonight defeating South Asheboro 33-14. The Tigers went undefeated this season. Congratulations!

Tenth-grade students from across Randolph County recently visited the Richard Petty Education Center at Randolph Community College to explore the diverse certificate, diploma, and associate degree opportunities offered in the Automotive Systems Technology program. The visit included a tour of the Randolph County School System’s bus garage. Wendy Anderson, the RCSS Transportation Director, facilitated engaging hands-on activities with her staff, allowing students to gain insights into various career paths within the automotive industry.

On October 15, RCSS hosted Manufacturing Day for approximately 150 8th graders from our seven middle schools. Students first visited Allen Industries in High Point to learn about signage design and manufacturing. Each school then toured a local industry—options included Bartimaeus By Design, Kaufman Trailers, Technimark, PEMMCO, and Timken. The students showed a strong interest in manufacturing, reflecting their work on Career Development Plans over the past year.
