High school student-athletes from Asheboro City Schools and the Randolph County School System were recognized this evening at the Randolph Sports Council Spring Banquet, held at Black Powder Smokehouse in Asheboro. The event featured guest speaker Mrs. Kathryn Simons, a member of the UNC-Chapel Hill Rowing Team and a proud alumna of Wheatmore High School, Class of 2014. We extend our sincere thanks to the Randolph Sports Council for organizing this special event, and a heartfelt appreciation to all the Randolph Sports Council sponsors, including Black Powder Smokehouse for hosting the event. May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month Thank you to our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and speech-language pathology assistants—for their hard work, dedication, and unique contributions to our school community.

This past Friday, all 6th grade students in our school system participated in the Career and Technical Education Department’s 6th Grade Career Expo and Truck Fair at Randleman Middle School. The event provided students with interactive, hands-on experiences featuring vehicles and industry professionals from a wide range of career fields across Randolph County. As part of the CTE College and Career Continuum, the fair supports career development initiatives in all 32 of our schools. On March 28, UR 6-12 welcomed 5th graders from Farmer Elementary and Tabernacle Elementary to celebrate Timberwolf Day! Students got a sneak peek into their future as a Timberwolf. Students experienced a tour and explored all the amazing programs UR 6-12 has to offer.
