Last week, the School Resource Officer at Uwharrie Ridge was honored in a special way!
There’s a wonderful tradition at Uwharrie Ridge where 8th-grade athletes select a staff member who has made a meaningful impact on their lives and present them with their jersey. On 8th Grade Night, one of our student-athletes chose to honor their SRO — a moment that left her truly speechless.
When she began serving as the SRO at Uwharrie Ridge three years ago, this young man was just starting middle school. Over the years, she’s had the privilege of watching him grow and succeed, both on and off the field.
“You can't truly measure the impact you have on a child's life until you share that daily connection—when they genuinely start to feel like one of your own. This is more than a jersey; it's a powerful testament to the relationships we build in these halls. This gesture is a profound reminder of why we do what we do.”
Moments like these are powerful reminders of the positive relationships built within our schools and the lasting difference our deputies make every day.
Congratulations, SRO Beck!!
