On March 27, Will Rivers, along with members of the High Country Brass Quintet, toured Randolph County, performing for students at Providence Grove High School, Northeastern Randolph Middle School, and Grays Chapel Elementary School—schools Will once attended as a RCSS student. The quintet performed a wide range of music, from selections featured in films like La La Land and How to Train Your Dragon to jazz classics such as Just a Closer Walk With Thee. The group is composed of undergraduate and graduate students from Appalachian State University. In addition to performing, they engaged with students by answering questions about studying music in college, their experience with their instruments, and their musical influences.
Students from all three schools enjoyed seeing Will’s accomplishments and appreciated the opportunity to experience a live performance by the High Country Brass Quintet.
