Announcements
This will be the final newsletter about scholarships for the remainder of the school year. If I get in additional scholarship info, I will forward it to my email contact groups, but, for the most part, this will finish out the newsletters.

Be sure you pay attention to the deadlines for the scholarships and whether they are mailed directly or they come to Mrs. Crotts. Missing deadlines means you miss the opportunity to apply.

Seniors will receive a letter on April 16 with all the dates and info about end-of-year activities. Be watching for this!

Students attending college should have begun getting their Financial Aid packets from their chosen college. These sheets will list any grants and scholarships as well as what it owed to that college. We will need copies of this as well as college acceptance letters. During Capping, May 18, we recognize any monies earned by students, whether it is grants or scholarships, (not loans). "Senior Surveys," will be given out in homerooms on April 16. We must get a Senior Survey from EVERY senior! Please be ready with the required info (plan for next year, college info, financial aid info) during that homeroom, if you have it available. Updates can be done until May 7, which is the deadline for submitting any information for Capping. We want to recognize every senior who has earned some monies - scholarships, grants, military, etc.

CFNC College Redirection Pool Now Available

The College Redirection module on CFNC.org opened April 1st and will be available to students until August 31st.  The College Redirection module was established primarily to assist students who have been denied admission from the institution of their choice and are seeking opportunities to pursue Higher Education in the fall.  The goal is for every student in the College  Redirection Pool to be contacted by, at least, their local North Carolina Community College. In nine years, over 6,300 students have participated in the College Redirection Pool. Many of these students receive recruitment materials from a number of colleges across North Carolina and continue on to enroll in those institutions for upcoming terms. The College Redirection Pool can be accessed from the CFNC.org home page. Please contact Katie McInerney, prosserce@northcarolina.edu, if you have any questions.

Parents...... FYI - the local Randolph County Educational Office Professionals scholarship for $500 that was due on March 27? No applications were turned in at THS. Local scholarships increase the odds considerably for our seniors, but only if they apply!
