Dear Parents, Students, Faculty, Staff and Community:

As assistant principal of New Market Elementary School, I would like to welcome each of you to an exciting school year! I look forward to working with each of you as we partner together to share knowledge and develop relationships.  It will be enriching as we inspire and encourage our students to grow academically and socially as individuals who have potential and self-worth in achieving his or her dreams.  Furthermore, it is my goal to provide a purposeful environment of knowledge, support, and trust built upon educational equity, relevance, rigor, and relationships where students are at the heart of all decisions and actions within the school.

I am a 1993 graduate of Campbell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and a 2011 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Master of School Administration degree. During my sixteen years in education, I have taught elementary music and reading within Montgomery County, North Carolina.  During the 2010-2011 academic year, I served as a full-time administrative intern with Montgomery County Schools working as an administrator at two elementary schools and additional experience at a high school.

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, working in my yard, and playing an occasional game of golf.
