In addition, all children entering 6th grade or those who have reached 12 years of age on or after August 1, 2008, are required to have a booster dose of Tdap ( tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) vaccine, if five years or more have passed since the last dose of tetanus-containing vaccine.
