Science Rocks!
Dear Parents,
For those who were able to attend last month, we extended our knowledge of Soil and Water. In cooperation with the Randolph County Soil and Water Conservation Department, fun demonstrations along with hands on activities were prepared for the students. Ms. Jenny and Mr. Wes illustrated how the environment affects our drinking water. We also learned many different ways that we can protect water quality and keep it clean.
Last week, we learned about forensic testing from Deputy Wright who is with the Crime Scene Investigation Unit of the Randolph County Police Department. We checked for GSR (gunshot residue) from a spent casing and talked about gun safety. Research shows that prior knowledge along with hands on experiences enhances further learning for each child. Please talk with your child and allow them to share what was learned.
If at all possible, please allow your child to attend each Science Club Enrichment sessions. We do require that you make sure to pick your child up after each session promptly at 3:15 in the back circle.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 824-2306 ext#214
Thank You for allowing me the opportunity to share in the life of your child.
Mrs. Catherine Davis
