Duke Tip 2011 - Duke University Talent Identification Program focusing on The Law, Leadership, The Sciences, and The Arts. Institute I is June 18th - July 2nd, 2011. Institute II is July 9th - July 23rd, 2011. See Mrs. Miller in Student Services for more detailed information on each institute.
National Institute of American History and Democracy (NIAHD) - Pre-Collegiate Program in Early American History for rising juniors, rising seniors, and graduating seniors. Students can earn 4 hours of college credit. There are two sessions, one from June 26th - July 16th and one from July 17th -August 6th, 2011. See Mrs. Miller in student services for more information.
Discover College Life This Summer! The 2011 Emory Pre-College Program is an academic program for high school students. It gives students an exciting glimpse of academic and residential life at a top-ranked national university. The University of Alabama 2011 Capstone Business Leadership Academy - 10 day residential summer program for academically exceptional rising high school seniors interested in obtaining an education and pursing a career in business. Appalachian State University Forensic Anthropology Summer Residential Camp - July 17-July 22nd and July 24th-July 29th. Students will work with real human skeletons in the osteology laboratory to learn more about forensic anthropology. Students must be between 15-18 years of age. Internship Opportunity! North Carolina Community Development Initiative - Summer Youth Community Economic Development Leadership Internship-This internship is for rising high school seniors who are motivated and ready to work hard in return for an opportunity to learn more about the exciting field of nonprofit and community economic development. The internship is 8 weeks long in the summer and students are paid $4,000. See Mrs. Miller in Student Services for more information.
Virginia Tech College of Engineering Summer 2 week residentual program to develop and sustain interests of engineering and the sciences. Hollins University Summer Program for young women who are rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders is located in Roanoke, VA. Students get to stay in a residence hall, eat in the dining hall, and participate in a wonderul pre-college experience. NC State -The Shelton Challenge - A one-week summer adventure for rising 9th - 12th grade students. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. There are 6 different programs during the summer of 2011. Summer High School Girls Entrepreneurship Institute - Beneet College is accepting applications for this all girls residential program that begins on June 19th and ends on June 29th. This program is for rising junior and senior females. See Mrs. Miller in Student Services for the application.
