Due to the impact of inclement weather during January, 2015 on the school calendar, the following changes are being made to the calendar:

  • January 22 has become an exam day and is now the last day of first semester.
  • The first day of second semester has been changed from January 22 to January 23.
  • The report card distribution day has been changed from January 29 to February 2.

Please note that these changes apply to all levels of school (elementary, middle, and high school).


To ensure you receive messages regarding school delays, closings, or other important school and district announcements, please make sure our school has your current phone number in PowerSchool.  You can do so by calling our school office or by sending a note in your child's homework folder for your teacher to forward to our data manager.  Thank you.

Due to some processes that still need to be completed at the state level, we are unable to generate K-2 report cards in PowerSchool at this time.  As a result, K-2 report cards will continue to be completed by hand instead of being generated electronically for the 2013-14 school year.  Reading levels for students in grades K-2 have been revised to reflect the expectations of the North Carolina Excellent Public Schools Act.  In addition, students in grades K-2 will be assessed on a four-point standards-based scale in an effort to provide parents with more detailed information regarding their child's academic progress.
