JLE raises money during "Grinchmas Week" to help children at Christmas back button

Recently John Lawrence Elementary held a "Grinchmas week". Click here to see what the school did each day.

See videos here and here.

The school had a word to focus on each day that symbolized why money was being collected and where it was going. The students raised over $670.00 to donate to the Serco Cheer Fund of Archdale Trinity to go for local children at Christmas.

Teachers spent time each day discussing what the chosen word meant, how it affected them, and what they could do about it.  For every one dollar the class raised, students received a sticker on their heart. This symbolized that it was growing. This was such a fun event and knowing the whole time that the participants were giving back made it even more special. JLE is proud of its students and families for "growing their hearts".
