Randleman Middle 6th Graders Complete "Selflessness" Project, Help Needy Children at Christmas

The week of Thanksgiving, Randleman Middle School 6th grade students completed a Selflessness project for Math class.
This project allowed students to get real life experience working with decimals and using a budget.
Students worked collaboratively in groups to research toys, games, clothing and other items for children in need of help for Christmas.  Each group had a budget to work from and was responsible for spending the entire amount without going over.  Students had a day to plan and research. They purchased and wrapped gifts for their needy child.
Funding for this assignment was given through an organization known as Operation Red Sleigh.  They raise money throughout the year for this very reason and ask for help in shopping for the child in need.
