"Reality Stores" Teach Financial Wisdom back button

News Image

Communities in Schools of Randolph County volunteers hosted a "Reality Store" at Uwharrie Middle School on November 5, 2015. A Reality Store is a financial literacy experience to help students understand what it is like to live within a budget. Students have a chance to "buy" a home, car, groceries, childcare and other essentials on the budget they receive. From the activity, students learn the importance of staying in school, waiting to have children, buying the necessities before the wants, and other important life lessons. Thank you to all the volunteers who come out to schools to work with the students in the Reality Store program!
