Ramseur student's artwork selected for "Farm to School" calendar. back button

Rachel Scalpati

Congratulations to Rachel Scalpati of Ramseur Elementary School, whose artwork has been selected to appear in the 2015-2016 North Carolina “Farm to School” calendar. 

The contest was open to all North Carolina public school students in grades K-5. Over 3200 entries were received, and Rachel’s artwork was one of only thirteen to be selected! Rachel was honored, along with the other winners, at an awards program in Raleigh on May 15, 2015.

The North Carolina Farm to School program has been supplying cafeterias across the state with fresh, North Carolina grown produce since 1997.

Rachel recieved a congratulatory letter from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Rachel, who was recognized at the 5/18/15 Board of Education meeting, is pictured above with Board member Matthew Lambeth.
