EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Randolph County School System has launched a new employment application system.  The new NC School Jobs powered by PeopleAdmin, provides an innovative way to streamline the hiring process.  Applicants will experience an enhanced, user friendly system when applying for positions.  To apply for a career opportunity, click on the link below.

If you have previously completed an application with the Randolph County School System and are still interested in employment opportunities, you will need to complete an application in PeopleAdmin to be considered for employment.  Applications completed in the old application system will not be migrated over and cannot be used for employment.

Before signing up the first time you will need the following:

  • A personal email address – do not use a work email.
  • At least three (3) references (name, title and contact information) – one must be current or most recent supervisor.
  • Work experience with company name and dates of employment.
  • Some positions may require a resume.  If required, you must upload to your online portfolio instead of sending it by email.

If you do not see a posting for the job(s) that you are interested in, please consider applying to the Generic Posting in the category for which you are interested in.  A list of categories is listed below for your reference.  By applying to a generic posting, you make your application visible to our district.

Certified/Licensed Positions – teaching or school administrative positions, including:

  • Teacher, Media Coordinator, Guidance Counselor, Social Worker, School Nurse
  • Principal, Assistant Principal
  • Director, Supervisor, Coordinator
  • Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent

Note: You will either need to hold a valid NC Educator’s License or be eligible to apply for one.  Lateral Entry candidates must hold a four-year degree in a specific content/subject area with a 2.5 or higher GPA from a regionally accredited college or university in order to qualify for a teaching position.  Jane Moody, Licensure Specialist in Human Resources, can assist you with this process.  Jane can be reached at 336-318-6043.

Classified Positions – include non-certified, non-teaching positions such as:

  • Teacher Assistant
  • Clerical – School Secretary, Payroll, Receptionist, etc.
  • School Nutrition Assistant
  • Custodial
  • Maintenance – Director, Carpenter, Plumber, Roofer, etc.
  • Technology Specialist – Programmer, Technician
  • Transportation – Mechanic

The Interview and Employment Process
When vacancies occur, interviews are arranged with selected applicants holding proper qualifications.  The Principal selects eligible candidate for interview.  After interviewing these candidates, the Principal makes a recommendation to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.  Offers of employment are extended from the Human Resources department.  The applicant, upon accepting the offer, will schedule a time for the New Hire Orientation session.  This activity involves completing appropriate local, state and federal forms.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for a job with Randolph County School System?
You will need to complete the online application and provide all of the necessary supporting documentation. 

What happens after I submit my application?
You will receive an email confirmation of your application submission.  All applications are reviewed and screened.  Candidates who best meet the position requirement will be contacted by the Principal.

Will I be contacted for a job interview?
Principals or a member of their staff will contact the candidates they are interested in interviewing.

I submitted an application, but have not yet heard back.  Who should I contact?
Due to the large volume of application we receive, we are unable to respond personally to all applicants.  Should your qualifications match a staffing need, you will be directly contacted.

Can I apply via email, fax, mail, or by directly contacting the hiring department?
RCSS only accepts applications submitted through the online application system.  The advantages of an online application system benefit both the applicants and the school system.  The online application system provides more options for applicants and more timely updates to job postings.

How frequently do you update the job postings?
We update job posting as positions become available.  At our busiest time of the year, this can happen on a daily basis.

A job has been posted for a number of months.  Is it still open?
If a position is on the website, it is still open and the Principal is still seeking candidates.

Do jobs remain posted after the position has been filled?
Posting are removed once a job has been filled.

Can I update an application once it has been submitted?
Yes, you will be able to log back in and make changes to your profile information at any time.

Do I have to re-enter my information every time I apply?
No.  If your profile is up to date, you will just have to apply directly to the positions for which you are interested in by logging into the online application system.
