"Grinchmas" Week at John Lawrence

John Lawrence Elementary principal with SerCo reps

Students and staff at John Lawrence Elementary School recently participated in the 2nd annual "Grinchmas" week.  All classes collected change each day to “make a change” and also to make the Grinch’s heart grow as big as possible.

Each day had a holiday theme as change was collected, and the Grinch’s heart grew and grew!  In total, the school raised over $400 for the SerCo ("Service to the Community") Club of Archdale-Trinity.  This money will help provide Christmas gifts for needy families in the community.  The winning classes raising the most money this year were: Mrs. Williamson, Mrs. Long, and Ms. Bracken.

On December 18, Lois Bohnsack, Stan Byrd, Sr., and J.D. Peace visited the school on behalf of SerCo to accept the Grinchmas donation from Principal Ginger Crites. John Lawrence Elementary School hopes to continue this Grinchmas tradition next year in order to help all families in our community have a happy holiday season.
