Wheatmore volleyball player sets state record, recognized at BOE meeting

Krista Tuggle

Krista Tuggle, a senior volleyball player at Wheatmore High School, recorded career assist number 3,297 in a game on September 26, 2017, giving her the state volleyball record for assists.

In addition to this accomplishment, It is important to note that Krista started as a freshman on the school’s volleyball team, played on the 2015 state runner-up squad as a sophomore, and helped lead the team to the regional final last year as a junior. In April, she won the sand volleyball state title with Wheatmore High School teammate Macy Eidenberger, who now plays at Catawba College.

Krista’s coach at Wheatmore High School is Sara Beth Campbell.
