John Lawrence Elementary raises money for Hurricane Harvey victims

John Lawrence Elementary School “joined together” to help our neighbors in need who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. The school raised $1,658.23 for the American Red Cross relief fund!

Classes participated in a challenge to see who could raise the most money for Hurricane Harvey victims. An anonymous donor promised a pizza party to the winning class. The challenge turned into a life lesson as students learned about providing assistance to those in need as well as the importance of helping others. All classrooms did a phenomenal job with contributing to this cause.

The top 3 classes were Mrs. Mattocks class ($296.34), Mrs. Queen’s class ($219.38), and Mrs. Williamson’s class ($179.76).
