John Lawrence Elementary celebrates "Letterland"

"Letterland" is a phonics program that many elementary schools in the Randolph County School System adopted this year for kindergarten.

On 5/6/16, John Lawrence Elementary School held its first annual "Letterland Celebration."

All kindergarten students were invited to dress as their favorite Letterland character that they have learned about this year. Staff members also chose a Letterland character to dress as.

Kindergarten students marched in a parade throughout the day to show off their costumes to others and share about their chosen letter. They also visited with staff members to guess the Letterland characters they were dressed as. Both staff and students enjoyed celebrating the knowledge they have gained this year from this wonderful program.
