Spelling Bee is February 2

Twenty-four students will take part in the Randolph County School System’s 2016 Spelling Bee on Tuesday, February 2 at 4:30 p.m. at the Sunset Theater in downtown Asheboro.  The event is a preliminary competition of the Scripps National Spelling Bee which is held in Washington, D.C.  The winner will go on to compete in the regional spelling bee held at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts in Winston-Salem on March 20, 2016.  Participants, in grades 3–8, are from all twenty-four county elementary and middle schools.  Individual school winners and second-place alternates (who will compete in case the winner is unable to do so) are:

Archdale Elementary - Jaiden Collins-Russell; Alternate - Luke Shepherd
