On Thursday, May 28, local television station WFMY News 2 visited Southmont Elementary School. Hosts of "The Good Morning Show" pumped students up about reading over the summer and setting reading goals.
SEE THE VIDEO HERE.
Students participated in games, songs, and dancing.  The segment was aired on Friday morning during the 6 o'clock hour of the morning show.
After the Read 2 Succeed Program, students were invited to swap out their old books for new books to read over the summer.  Every student went home with at least two books that were new to them to keep and enjoy over the summer months.
