Parent/Student Rights in Identification, Placement and Services Gifted Education

Randolph County School System

 

 The following is a description of your rights in the identification, placement, and services for students in the Gifted Education Program in Randolph County Schools.


1. Right to request the brochure (SBC-GE 1a) explaining the due process procedures if you cannot resolve differences over identification, placement and/or differentiated services with the School-Based Committee for Gifted Education at the local school.


2. Right to be informed of any proposed actions related to eligibility and plan for differentiated services.


3. Right to examine all relevant records.


4. Right to receive all information in the parent’s/guardian’s native language and primary mode of communication.


5. Right to be informed before any significant change in program/service modifications.
