On February 23rd, students in Chinese classes from Wheatmore High School took a field trip to Hopewell Elementary school to celebrate Chunjie, which is known as Chinese New Year. Students from Chinese 1,2,3,4  shared their book project with 2nd graders at Hopewell. Mrs. Tracy Hicks HES, Mrs. Kelly Ivey and Ms. Peng from WHS collaborated and enjoyed a great time with the student teachers and 2nd graders. The student teachers taught about the Asian Spring Festival - when and how it is celebrated, and the cultural perspectives behind the festival. Ms. Peng and Jessica Biles performed Kungfu fan for the kids. The student teachers quizzed the kids and gave them New Year Gifts from China.

Hopewell thanks the collaborators and all of the students that celebrated Chinese New Year together!
