Spelling Bee Winner

Southmont Elementary would like to congratulate Jaxon Mabe for winning the 2017-2018 school spelling bee! After fourteen rounds, Jaxon edged out his competition by spelling "altitude"! A big shout out to Kacen Hopkins who came in second and will serve as our alternate. We are proud of all of our contestants and their efforts! We wish Jaxon the best of luck in February when he competes at the county level!

After the competition, both boys almost simultaneously congratulated each other. What a show of sportsmanship! We are so thankful to have two young men at our school modeling the right thing!
